Quick answer
To add Google Meet links to your meetings, connect Google Calendar:
- Go to Meet N Sync → Config → Google Config.
- Select Connect with Google.
- Sign in to your Google account and allow Calendar access.
- Confirm you see Connected as your Google email.
Once connected, choose Google Meet under Meeting link when you create a meeting, or use Quick link on Meet.
Google Meet is not a separate connection. Meet N' Sync creates Meet links through your Google Calendar connection on Google Config.
Connect Google Calendar
If Google is not set up for your workspace yet, a tenant admin must enable it under Settings → Integrations (Google OAuth client ID, secret, and redirect URL). Until that is done, members may see a message that Google Calendar is not configured for this tenant.
- Open Meet N Sync → Config → Google Config.
- On the Google Calendar card, select Connect with Google.
- Approve access to Google Calendar and your email.
- You return to Google Config with a success message: Google Calendar connected successfully.
- The page shows Connected as your Google email, with a Disconnect option.
If your connection becomes invalid, use Disconnect and reconnect or Reconnect with Google.
After Google is connected
When Google Calendar is connected, Meet N' Sync can:
- Create a Google Meet link when you set Meeting link to Google Meet (or select Add Google Meet on a meeting).
- Sync calendar events when invitations are sent (in addition to Meet N' Sync invitation emails).
- Show join details under Location on the meeting, including Join with Google Meet.
Calendar sync does not automatically add a Meet link. Meet is added only when you choose Google Meet as the meeting link channel.
The Google Calendar event organizer is the meeting owner if they have Google connected; otherwise it uses the meeting creator.
Quick link
On Meet, if Google is connected, the create menu includes Quick link:
- Select Quick link.
- Choose Google Meet.
- Copy the link and meeting code, share via your preferred channel, or select Join now.
Quick link creates an instant Meet URL. It does not create a Meet N' Sync meeting card, and it does not send invitation emails.
Meeting link on create or edit
When you create or edit a timed meeting, use the Meeting link field:
| Option | Behavior |
|---|---|
| None | No auto conference link. You can enter a Custom meeting URL if needed. |
| Google Meet | Meet N' Sync provisions a Google Meet link for that meeting. |
| Zoom | Uses Zoom instead (requires Zoom connected). Only one channel at a time. |
On an existing meeting, you can also select Add Google Meet from the Location controls, or Connect Google Calendar if you are not connected yet.
Google permissions used by Meet N' Sync
Meet N' Sync requests these Google permissions:
| Permission | Why it’s used |
|---|---|
openid |
Sign-in identity for the connected Google account. |
| Google Calendar | Create and update calendar events, and create Meet conference data for meetings. |
| User email | Show Connected as your Google email on Google Config. |
There is no separate Google Meet API connection. Meet uses Google Calendar conferencing.
